We have had an amazing time at the Red Centre and seen some incredible and awe inspiring things and beheld Uluru at both sunrise and sunset and walked and climbed in the bush and are pretty exhausted. After a bit of a lie in, we did not have to leave the resort till 0900, we had a full breakfast in the restaurant and were taken by complimentary shuttle bus to the airport where just one person attempted to check everyone in on the Qantas desk so a queue snaked its way towards the door. I guess with so few flights departing and arriving they could afford not to rush and we were into the departure lounge in good time for our first flight to Alice Springs which we had left by coach early on Saturday morning.
The flight was very short but provided lots of photo opportunities of the Western Dessert and mountain ranges then we were landing. We had a relatively short wait before our next flight to Adelaide which sped us onwards with time to watch a film and eat the provided sandwich then came the anxious moments preceding the arrival of baggage which we had last seen in Uluru but had been assured would be transferred to the Adelaide flight and there they were, together on the conveyor belt!
A brief consultation at the information desk confirmed we could catch a bus directly into the city for just $5 AUS each leaving us with a very short walk to the hotel.
All went smoothly though we encountered a lot of traffic, it appearing to be the end of school, and arrived at our apartment hotel, Oaks Horizon, to find a delightful eight floor dwelling complete with spacious lounge, reasonably well equipped kitchen, comfy bed, whirlpool bath and a washing machine and dish washer centrally located near to the Railway Station.
After unpacking we took a stroll into town to do some food shopping and we prepared a tasty prawn pasta dish and a local white wine and caught up with emails and Facebook, having wifi for the first time some leaving Dunsborough.
