So, having sampled the delights of Perth and selected highlights to the North and North East, we have picked up a hire car and are heading South towards Dunsborough where we are staying in the Wyndham Dunsborough Resort & Spa, a time share exchange through RCI. Once out of the city we were onto the freeway and had a very pleasant traffic free drive through native bush lands and wheat fields on a good road with the Indian Ocean, unseen but close to hand, on our right.
Dunsborough turned out to be a compact country town with useful shops, a post office and several cash machines about 10 minutes from our resort. The resort is well appointed with landscaped gardens, a pool, gym and each apartment has a balcony with views of the gardens and their are paths leading to the beach which is long and fairly deserted. After unpacking we set off for afternoon tea at a delightful tea shop called Tealicious where we also purchased some of their home made salmon and sweet potato cakes for dinner at the apartment.
Our shopping expedition successful we returned to the resort for a quick stroll on beach and paddle in the Indian Ocean then to chill, drink local Shiraz, enjoy a whirlpool bath and then have dinner, once we sorted out how to use the multi function microwave cooler! Caught glimpses of recorded highlights of the opening ceremony of the Winter Olympics on tv and were astonished at how local many of the adverts were for a whole range of goods and services.
