DAY 1: the journey begins.

So Day 1 and the first leg of our journey to Dubai was very straightforward. Flew Emirate Air for the first time and would definitely travel with them again, in fact several of our flights during the GAA are with them. Great service, attentive staff, good food, great entertainment with a wide range of movies on demand. Once we retrieved our bags and cleared customs we were met by a driver from Alpha Tours who took us to our hotel in a rather smart white BMW 5 Series.

The Habtoor Grand Resort & Spa is a very pleasant hotel near Dubai Marina District. Room is spacious with a garden view and there are several restaurants and cafés on site and in the locality.
A short walk and snack in a fusion Italian/Japanese restaurant to revive us then bed.
